Fraternal Order of Transit Police FOP Lodge #109 represents the brave men and women of the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) Transit Police Department.

SEPTA is the sixth largest transit system in the US and the SEPTA Transit Police are the 5th largest police department in Pennsylvania. In 2022, SEPTA's annual ridership reached over 146,000,000 riders and it is the SEPTA Transit Police's duty and responsibility to keep every rider and SEPTA employee safe.

Formed in 1981, the SEPTA Transit Police Department is responsible for policing the entire regional SEPTA system, covering a 2,200 square-mile SEPTA service area of five Pennsylvania counties- Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia- and across three states- Delaware, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Transit Police patrol by car, foot, or mobile cart to keep passengers and employees safe and secure on the SEPTA transit system.
